We have met the enemy and he is us

 Things to come.

While working in the garden this afternoon, a thought struck. Perhaps heat prostration dizziness. What if Obama wins?

There is another election in four years. And Hillary knows it all too well.

Machiavelli's “The end justifies the means”, “Win at any cost.” still apply. She is a master at this. You can bet your bippy that Hillary and the Democratic machine will do their damndest to make certain that she wins in 2012. Even if it means that our economy and everything else that can be blamed on Obama goes to hell in a handbasket. Do they care if we live in misery? Not a speck as long as Obama can be made to appear at fault and Hillary gets elected. Facts are unimportant. Spin is everything.

Or am I just being a pessimist? Hey. t'is politicians we are talking about here, after all.

Sinnan:

Yes u are being pessimistic and spin is not everything just like a tornado isn't everything thank heaven.
The old saying, "Everything works for the best in the long run"is based on the fact that the magnitude of the rotation to the right is always greater than that to the left and I'm NOT TALKING ABOUT THE POLITICAL LEFT RIGHT BUT THE GOOD BAD LEFT RIGHT...Pessisism is understandable but ugly and unnecessary but it's understandable and no one can be blamed for being it but it's wrong.

sinann - You're not alone. Lots of voters are feeling dizzy as they suffer endless 'win-at-any-cost' Hillary/Obama heat.

Messing around in the garden gives time and energy to wonder at all of the miraculous things around, Curious. Also gives time to think about things that bother, however. Time will tell.

Things turn out good in the long run, Pop. Firmly believe that. But it is the short run that is ruining my budget.

And you don't think Hillary is capable of this?

I'll be glad when the election is OVER! Thats all I think about anymore,is our new president going to dig us deeper in the hole or make everything right? Its driving me nuts! Then look at our gas prices rising rising,is there ever going to be an end to it? Too much too think about for me.

Too much to think about is right, Indian. Have hopeful thoughts about a new President. But have been down that road before.

You remind me of Voltaire's Candide--"let us tend our garden"--but I agree with you, sinann. It is worrisome. No matter which way our politics tend, this is the most contentious election cycle I can remember in my relatively short lifetime, and that does include 2000 and the Florida Fandango--Guess I'm hoping for the best and will not be surprised if the worst happens instead. BTW, do we get to see pics of your garden?
